About TACOS FOR TICOS

Soccer is more than just a sport in Costa Rica; it's a way of life that unites communities and instills hope for a better future. No matter how small a town is, it has a soccer field, and the entire village often gathers to cheer on local games. Our mission is simple -- donate as many cleats as possible to the kids in Costa Rica that need them.  If you have a team that is in need, please fill out this form. 

We believe that hope has long-lasting effects. While a pair of cleats may not last forever, the hope and opportunities they bring can change lives. Each time we deliver cleats, we also visit other impoverished rural areas to provide gear and supplies.

For the past three years, we've self-funded our efforts to bring soccer cleats to Costa Rican children in need. Now, with our recent 501(c)(3) status (Federal Tax ID #: 88-1829887) and legal charity status in Costa Rica, we're asking for your help to expand our impact. 

 Here's how Tacos for Ticos works:

• We collect gently used soccer cleats through donation drives in the USA.
• The cleats are packed in duffle bags and transported on commercial airplanes.
• Once in Costa Rica, we sort and distribute the cleats to children in rural areas based on coaches' wish lists.
• We organize giveaways in collaboration with local coaches to provide kids with the gear they need. or service you'd like to show.
